Trout fishing in the Lidder River is a unique sport that has gained maximum popularity in the town. Well, you need to take special permission (valid for three days) to go out for fishing.
During monsoon (March to September), water activities like white water rafting on the icy water of Lidder will surely make your day. The 9-hole golf course located at an altitude of 7800 feet on the lap of mountains will give you the pleasure of the aristocratic sport. You can hire golf kit from the tourism office, if you have passion and love for the game.
How to reach
Srinagar Airport, located only 95 Km from Pahalgam is the nearest airport. The airport connects Pahalgam with other major cities of northern India.
People willing to save money by travelling in train can book ticket till Jammu Tawi, which is 157 Km from the destination. Abundant train services are available from Jammu Tawi to other parts of the country.
If you are keen to make your trip in bus then you can book your seat in a luxurious bus from Jammu or Srinagar. Self driving is also a good option and takes couple of hours to reach Pahalgam.
