Only at 112 Km away from Jammu in Indian state Jammu and Kashmir, the Patnitop or Patni Top is one of the most exhilarating hill-station. The Chenab River flows very close to the site. In the lower Himalayan Range, the Patnitop (elevation approximately 6,600 feet) is located on the NH 1A.
Adventure activities in Patnitop
The thick forest and uneven landscape welcomes tourists throughout the year and especially during the snow covered sessions. The tranquil plateau with lush green grassland receives huge amount of snowfall and open up huge possibilities for enjoying adventure activities like skiing. Trekking through the challenging routes from Patnitop to Sudh Mahadev, Billo ki powri can be really exciting and fun filled. Rock climbing, adventure camps, paragliding, abseiling, etc. are some more well admired adventure sports in Patnitop. You can experience the thrill of flying over the top of the hills while trying paragliding. The fly can be 15 minutes to one hour depending on the weather conditions. Horse riding or walking through the forest route can also be charming in the chilled weather.
How to reach
If you are flying from New Delhi then either you have to land in Srinagar or Dharamsala. Patnitop is 190 Km from Srinagar and 260 Km from Dharamsala on road. From Jammu Airport Patnitop is only 110 Km away.
There are train routes to Patnitop via Udhampur (46 Km) Jammu Tawi (110 Km) or Amritswar (310 Km) and Pathankot (180 Km).
You can also take the road route to Patnitop. Jammu is only 108 Km from Patnitop, while Srinagar is only 184 Km. The routes to Patnitop are packed with unparallel natural beauties, and if you are willing to experience those, then the route from Udhampur (46 Km), Dalhousie (85 Km) or through Manali (193 Km) are really the best.
