Adventure Camps In Srinagar

The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar, located on the bank of Jhelum River is known for its stunning and well-decorated gardens. Srinagar is generally more familiar to the visitors for the Dal Lake and Houseboats (Shikhara). The valley on such high elevation exhibits a history of almost 2000 years ago. If you are looking to visit Srinagar with your friends or family then April to October is the best time. However, for trekkers and adventure lovers prefer the period between November and February for experience huge snowfall.

Adventure activities in Srinagar

Srinagar is the hub for outdoor adventure activities and adventure camps in Northern India. People mostly visit the place to explore the majestic Dal Lake and its Shikhara (Houseboat) ride. However, there are plenty of activities to enjoy, especially if you are going to Srinagar during the beginning of November.

The charming gardens and lush greenery always welcome the tourists to enjoy a walk during the evening. The Dachigam Wildlife Sanctuary is the home of migratory birds, leopard, Himalayan black bear, deer and Kashmiri stags, can be an exciting day trip if you visit Srinagar. March to August is the best time to visit this wildlife sanctuary.

Trekking and skiing are famous adventure activities that can be enjoyed during the winter. Try out golfing in the country’s most beautiful Golf course near Chashm-e-Shahi. Aero Ballooning has become an addition in Srinagar tourism, which you can try to see the Pir Panjal range from distance.

How to reach

Srinagar has its own Airbase, which operates regular flights to other parts of the country. Few years back international terminus was inaugurated from where foreign tourists can get direct flight for Dubai.

The newly developed Srinagar railway station operates passenger train but the complete work is supposed to get over in another couple of years. However, Udhampur railway station and Ram Nagar railway station, located at 130 Km and 138 Km respectively, are the nearest Indian Railway halt of Srinagar.

Srinagar has a distinct bus stop which connects bus service with major cities in Jammu and Kashmir and other major states. You can also self drive to Srinagar by cars from Jammu, Udhampur, etc.
